we accepted u as our president even tho u were not offically. still u are the one.
    im going 2 tell some thing 2 u all…..
in s.meedhoo, some people were resigned from their job because of the sivile service and are still in therir job as a contrected job. the office people told them not to partcipate in our happiness because anni was selected as the president. and they told this is not allowed by the sivile service tho ttho they were not in sivile service. this is true.

  13. We are really proud of you mr. President(Mohamed Nasheed) We needed a change. It Deserves you for this position. Your courage and the members who are with you are unbelievable. We never want Maumoon again.
and just a quick look at the TVM. actually we need to make this TVM a private sector and sell it. If maumoon have won this election, It will be like a Eid for them. but see it now. only few words from that channel. now people don’t want that channel at all. very funny.and just a reminder to TVM. Mr. Mohamed Nasheed is our President now. So face the reality. We will forget what this channel have done. because we are in another Maldives with The nations words. He he he .

  18. Congratulations.I have never seen such compassion in action, a true leadership example..i am confident that after all the struggle for democracy and freedom we will be now able to lay foundations for good governance,Anni/Waheed/qasim/hassan/ibra..one of the many mistakes we have done is the halt on teaching humanities in our schools. In order to develop our future political leaders , parliamentarians and socialogists please establish an Institute for Political Science and Media Studies within the present Faculty of Shariya and Law as soon as possible{ on 11th November 2008 itself}and all of you must address to the nation on this .WE dont have to wait for another 30 years to lay foundations for democratic studies and media studies.Your election means we have hope for the rights and freedoms guarenteed in our constitution and a hope for a free and responsible media from bias and malice..The media and politicians needs education , and who else can lay such foundations except people like you and Dr.Waheed who have now the herculian task of liberating people and their minds out of this barbarian jungle in a systematic way..

  19. Congratulations our dear president H.E Mohamed Nasheed. Ever since we breathed a sigh of life here in maldives, we have been waiting for this day. Infact god does grant success to peaple who are true and capable for the task. Today Nasheed has shown a democratic example to the entire world. You have shown us your capability. You have shown your gud attitude and knowledge. You surely deserves this post because the freedom which we see today is all due to your hard work and dedication. You have saved us from a full 30 year dictatorship and enlightened our heart with never ending happiness!! Since i am a student i couldnt vote……….but still i have also been waiting to see a new Maldives and insha Allah sucess has led us to the right path!! To the ANEH DHIVEHI RAAJE!! Congratulation Nasheed and your family and May GOD bless you with happiness. Hope that we would see a full democratic example from you and your team!! Hope to see a welcoming rule from you!!(i am sure that you’ll show us one which s free from coruption , drugs….!)Congartulations!!

  20. Let us not foegrt Gayoom made the transformation of Maldives to what is today. Despite the shortcomings, he made the booming Maldives. With the lack of experience and dubbed “Asia’s Mandela”, i do hope you make good out of the whole array of promises you made Anni. You maybe charismatic but Gayoom is talismanic. As everyone rejoices, i suggest treading carefully and planning as to where you should begin. Good luck and I hope everyone in Maldives will observe the hardships and limitations of a president.

  22. Congratulation and good wishers to our beloved leader His Excellency Mohamed Nashee (Anni)
Under your able leadership I am sure we will be going forward for Wathan Edey Gotha”
However we MDP members will stay in course to keep you on right path.
You have thought us to demand our rights! You have thought us to stage peaceful demonstration in this regard. You have thought us to fight for our rights!
Therefore we will not hesitate to remind you if you go wrong! We all MDP members and other reformists together be looking over your actions and we will make you responsible for your action!
We will never stop our support for you even for a minute in making our nation a better place with hope.
We want to see the country as a “Nation of Hope and Opportunity” under you skillful forward thinking leadership.
Unfortunately we don’t have much time. We suffered a lost for too long.
We hope you will take short steps fast-forward and go with us to “Aneh dhivehiraajje” where there is opportunity and hope.

  25. It is practically impossible to achieve something which could have been achieved in 30 years, whitin a period of just a meer 5 years. This is something we all have to understand. But within the next five years strong foundations can be laid which would withstand the chalanges ahead. Changing the president is 10% of a change we foresee. In my understanding, greater work remains to be done, like educating the public on democracy, changing the current mindset of the people to name just a few. A majority of the people are still infected with corruption.

  26. I congratulate Mohamed Nasheed in winning the elections. However, let’s not forget that Gayoom had the foresight in knowing how to transform a fishing village to what it is known today – a renowed tourist attraction for sea lovers and newly weds. This transformation would not have been made possible if Maldives has fallen into the wrong hands of a weak leader. Gayoom has his many shortcomings. And like what Barack Obama said: “I am not a perfect president, but I will make myself one and think in the minds of my people.” I pray that Mohamed Nasheed will make good of his promises to his people. I pray that the booming Maldives will not turn out to be a wreck under your lead. I pray that Mohamed Nasheed will stop using the militant forces to gain his benefits. I pray that Mohamed Nasheed will not be courrupted when he is in his comfort zone. And lastly, I pray that Mohamed Nasheed will have a solid strategic plans and good policies when the time comes for you to serve on 11 November 2008. Despite no solid plans, no education and being a prisoner many times, the world will watch closely as today, as it will go down in history, that Mohamed Nasheed, who was many times a prisoner, is now a president.

  30. its a very silly idea to convert the presidential palace to a university. You can leave it fr when head of states visit the country fr them to stay if anni does’nt want to live in it.Being a Maldivian i think you can reduce the amount you spend on the maintanance of the palace by closing down some of the areas and anni should live in it.WE Maldivians will want to see our new president living in the palace that was build for the president whether, it was build during maumoon’s regime.Even in America the most democratic country in the world the president lives in the white house so think about this.

  31. Congradulations Anni and the Wathan Edhey gothah team. We are expecting a better life for us. Dont let us down by chosing unappropriate cabinet Ministers like. Sarangu Adam Manik etc. We have good qualified, uncorrupt people. Please check the background and the capability before chosing. Dont let us down. Please. Prove yourself.
Once again Thankyou for bringing down the dictatorship.
